    Receipt from L. Kiper & Sons - Leather & Saddlery & Saddlery Hardware.  Atchison, Kansas dated Dec. 12 1890.  Made out Jesse McCallum.
    Louis Kiper (1829-1905) Settled in Kansas from Poland and with great skills as a shoemaker.  He formed the L. Kiper & Sons company in 1863 in Atchison, Kansas, Atchinson itself was founded just 9 years before in 1854.  The company became known for hides, wool, leather and saddlery and he soon became the most worthy and respected citizen in Atchison.  He was joined by his sons Charles, Herman & Julius and together they relocated to Chicago in 1891.
    Jesse McCullum (1848-1907) was a teacher at an Indian School and Saddlemaker.
