    Description

    CONDITION: The saucer has one craze line on the under side and a slight firing flaw on the top side.
    This porcelain breakfast cup and saucer was produced in England  by Minton around 1837.
    This pattern of water lilies is documented in the volume “ Minton the First 200 Years”.  The diameter of the saucer is 6 1/2 inches.  The  cup is 2 1/2 inches tall with a diameter of 4 inches.  Parian porcelain is unglazed so that the surface has a soft, matte finish.  The interior of the cup has glaze so that it may be used.  The set is molded in high relief with lily pads and blossoms.  Parian ware was an attempt to imitate marble in the 19th century.
