Minton Dinner Plates in Belmont Japan Pattern - C 1860 (8). These stunning plates from Minton are absolutely beautiful. The British Registry mark on the back indicates they were made in 1860. This design includes a transfer process to outline the pattern, with subsequent hand-coloring of the pattern features.
The quality of this process can vary. This set is of the highest quality, with rich colors that are expertly applied. The flowers have a subtile gradient from light to dark. Design details are reminiscent of Japanese Imari. The detailing in the boarder of the plates is amazing. The condition is near mint. There are no chips, cracks, crazing or restorations. They shows very little use and have no knife marks.
