Description

Vintage fold-out 1938 Gulf Refining Company road map of Pennsylvania, printed more than 82 years ago.
The map opens to 18" x 36" and has great detail on old highway alignments, including U.S. Routes 6, 22, and 30, with cartography by Rand McNally.
On the reverse side there is an inset of the main routes between Pennsylvania and New Jersey, a highway map of the Northeast, and a mileage table.
The map was distributed by Gulf in 1938 and is dated dated by the code number in the lower margin: T.3613. Population data is from the 1930 census.
There are ads for various Gulf products, including furniture polish, spot remover, insect spray, and motor oil, as well as a directory of radio stations, touring tips, and statistics on farms and highways.
Condition:
This map is in very good condition, bright and clean, with
no
rips, tears, or writing. There's a tiny hole on one fold and a neat rubber-stamp imprint from a Ford dealer in Quakertown. Please see the scans and feel free to ask any questions.
